Quickie - Antec 900 Power LED?

Is it just me or does this case not have one, yet the manual is referencing one?

We looked and we looked but there's only 3 leads coming from the top of the case of that kind, Reset SW, Power SW, and HDD LED, and they're all bound together.

The manual talks about a Power LED, I would EXPECT a Power LED... but... nothing?
 
There is no power led; however, the HDD led is good enough, it's right on top where the reset switch is.
 
OH - I didn't realize that was for the HDD. I hooked that one up to the power connector, so its blue when the PC is on.
 
I don't know why you need a power led anyway, 99% of the time you can tell a PC is running.

Not to mention the 2 huge blue lit fans infront of the pc. I can see it's on during daytime lol. I don't understand why you would want a power LED if you can tell it's on, unless all you want is more eye candy.

I'm not sure what you're saying is even possible because a power led is 3 pins wide, and an HDD one is only 2

I cant see why people bitch about no power LED.

Like the 2-3 Blue LED fans werent obvious enough.

And if you do change them out, all you have to do is look at the front and see if they're spinning away.

(There is 2 revisions of this case. First ones only have 2 LED fans, 1.1's have 3, you can find out which you bought by looking above the UPC code, if you bitch to Antec enough, they'll probably ship a fan your way. I emailed em about a small scratch on the window when I unboxed it, and they sent me a brand new side panel AND a free LED fan, their customer service is amazingly awesome.) :D I'm an Antec guy now. ^__________^

They're making a third revision which enables you to plug in a dvi monitor to the top pci slot on the case... as everyone knows that problem. Also longer wire and some other fixes. If you have a 1.0 or 1.1 revision you can also bitch at antec about it when revision 1.2 comes out. They made an offical statement somewhere that they would sned a free rev1.2 to whoever caled them about their 1.0 or 1.1. I currently have a 1.1 i'm pretty sure cus there are 3 fans in mine (1rear, 2 front).
 
Interesting. Did not know that, but now I'll have to look into that because I'm about to get a new board for this machine, and the video card may sit up higher than normal.

Wait what? What exactly is 1.2 fixing? The 1.1 revision fits dvi connectors in the top pci slot just fine.

Wow I feel dumb. I saw an announcement given by antec that said when the new revision will come out, anyone with revision 1 which does not support a dvi connector in the 1st slot, could call antec commenting on the their antec 1.0 with proof of purchase would have revision 1.1 sent to them for free. I apologize if I mislead anyone. I thought there were three revisions for a second because Reanimation_LP commented on his case only coming with 2 fans. Again I apologize for the mistake.

To help clear things up, here's a picture of the Antec 900 Rev1(Left) and Rev2 (Right) from HeXus. The arrows point out the differences. There is also more gap in the 1st pci slot for the DVI connector.

Yeah that was a bonehead fuckup.

I love my Antec 900 though, except that it's the biggest dust magnet ever and I'm a smoker but hell you get what you pay for and I got a case with very positive airflow

I just bought a Antec 900 and I have the older version. do you have a link to where you saw tey would send out a new one to replace the old ones?

Uhhmm...I am a bit confused. I have an Antec 900 and there are no leds anywhere on the case. No power led, no HDD led, so I am confused as to what you guys are talking about. Does someone have a pic? Not that I would want them, since I swapped out all the blue fans in favor of green, and I assume they would be blue leds. But I just find it strange that we have the same exact case, but yours has leds and mine doesn't.


While on subject of the 900, does anyone else have a problem with the length of the "front" panel connectors? (they're technically "top" panel connectors.) Mine reach to the headers on my A8N-SLI Premium, but with no extra at all. There is no way to hide them, I have to run them right out in the open down the front side of the mobo. Same deeal with the USB connectors, except there is just enough to loop it behind the mobo. It just seems like they could have gave just a couple inches or so more length, so you could hide them a little.

EDIT:Wow, I feel like a total f___ing noob! I just took a closer look at the panel, and yes, there is a tiny little clear plastic circle. I assume this has the led behind it for the HDD. I guess I didn't hook mine up right, cause it doesn't light up. I never really thought about it, because when I hooked everything up, it turned on, reset worked, and the USBs all functioned. (no front audio, cause for some idiotic reason the my mobo has no front audio headers. DOH!) Sorry for being so noobish, guys. I am trying to cut down. lol

Three carefully dremeled holes in the Antec 900 go a long way.


One at the very top for optical drives, one near motherboard SATA/IDE ports and another near the PSU to route it's cables.
