ok on a wall socket there is something like: (ignore th dot's amdforums doesnt hold many spaces, making sure it doesn't look to funky)

now, i have a green, white, and black wire, im in the USA so what goes where, i think that

black........white

but that's just becuase i guess alot...plz lmk what the correct ones are...thanks
 
Actually the plug looks like this:

One side of the receptical is longer than the other side. The white wire goes on the long side, the black wire on the short side and the green or bare wire to the round connector.
