Quick Windows 2000 Server groups question (renaming a group)

Hey guys,

Lets say that I've created a group named "Temp" to test out some settings. I shared a handful of folders and put a person or 2 into that group. Now I want to change the name of the group, if I do so will all the share settings and users' groups be updated accordingly? Or do I have to recreate the group with the proper name and re-set all my share settings?

I'm not positive, but if you are actually testing this..then doit and see

If you change the group name, everything will stay the same. (where the group has rights, who is in that group, etc)

The permissions are all based on the SIDs. The group name is inconsequential.

So for instance, if I have the group name "temp" and then I change it under the management settings in windows to "Direwolf". When I go to the folder share permissions, it will now say "Direwolf" where it said "Temp" before right?
