I know how to download & install the new fah6 client.
What I cannot work out is how to alter the start up file so it looks for fah6 with the correct -smp flag.

I've got a copy of Unhappy Mages's original test.vmdk file.
I need to how to either ......
Open the editor in it.
Or .........
Add an editor to it if needed.
Or even ..........
Download an updated version that will start fah6 -smp.

I'm up a feww hundred PpD running the VMWare-Linux combo over the straight Windoze client.

Luck ................ :D

finstall?

Once you have a .vmdk working I think you can basically copy it as needed (deleting the instance specific files between copies).

+1 for finstall. I basically installed Ubuntu 64 then run finstall and I'm done.

I cannot get Finstall to work on the disk image I've got.
wget -c http://ra.vendomar.ee/~ivo/finstall does not work from inside the VM.

Not to sure how to make a new disk image.
Downloading a new Linux iso to see if that helps.

All I need is to find a very basic text editor in the disk image I've got and I'd be fine but my knowlage of Linux is very basic.
Or post how to get a very basic editor in there.

Luck ........... :D

Cracked it.
I needed the vi command.
That opens a very basic editor which alowes me to change the last line of the startfah file.

Now to learn more Linux so I can make my own disk images with Samba support.

Luck ............. :D
