Unbeknownst to me, this weekend while I was gone at home for Thanksgiving my roommate took his Radeon and replaced my GeForce FX5700 in my own computer so he could play Half-Life 2 with a little more graphical glory. I havent popped back the GeForce in yet, but are there any hardware/software issues I should be aware of that could hinder the performance of my computer after I make the switch? Thanks much in advance

Yea- the drivers
You have to uninstall the drivers and then run driver cleaner a couple of times and then reinstall the Nvidia drivers.
I am not sure if this is the correct order of things but here-
1) Uninstall the ATI drivers
2)Take out the ATI card and replace it with the Nvidia card
3) Run Driver cleaner a couple of times
4) install the Nvidia drivers
If this order is wrong then PLEASe correct me. I forgot the correct order

What is this driver cleaner stuff?
I went from owning a ATI 9600 Pro to a PNY 6800 GT and I never used a driver cleaner. My 3DMark05 score is where it should be and all my fps in HL2 and Doom 3 are really high. Am I lucky or something? I am using Windows 2000, by the way if that has anything to do with it.

Driver Cleaner cleans all remaining "stuff" such as Reg Keys left over by the previous drivers even though you uninstalled them.
Or at least thats my understanding of it.

after u install driver cleaner .. it has a readme .. read that ..
