quick vcore question 2500 barton

just got a quick question

i have a 2500 barton in a nf7-m

im just wondering what the highest vcore i should run this at
assume temps wont be a problem

will it damage my chip any to run at a high vcore (assuming i keep it cool)

You can go up to 1.8v, but bartons at 1.8 are known to have sds. or sudden death syndrome. I wouldn't run it past 1.7 I have my 2500+ 1.8GHz currently at 2.2 GHz and 1.6v
 
I would say 1.75 is safe...no higher though, and check to make sure your motherboard doesn't overvolt.

edit - this is assuming you have good cooling. On the stock cooler, I wouldn't go past 1.7...I'd probably stick with 1.675 or lower.
 
1.8v is fine. Mine was runnig on 1.8v for ages before I got better cooling and was able to get the same oc on less volts. I've heard of them surviving 2 volts but that's just for screenies at high clocks and I'd imagine it'd die pretty quick if you kept it at 2v
 
I've had my mobile barton 2500+ at 2.2 volts for a bit no problems. Doesn't help though. Anything over about 2.05 for my chip does nothing.

Going over 2 volts, even with decent cooling, for long periods will cause gradual damage to the chip.

My chip could do 2600mhz for ages at 2.05 volts when I got it. Ran like this for about 6 months and then it just was no longer stable. Now I have it at 2500mhz at 1.95. I can still do higher than this, but I don't wanna push it, and it's just flat out unable to do 2600mhz no m atter what voltage I use now. It's obviously dying.
