Quick upgrade help please?

Hi, i can use advice from the gurus here, do you mind?

I have been using an older Epox 4BDA motherboard (regular 4BDA) with a P4 1.6A OC'd to 2.4 ghz for quite some time (784meg of ram). I need 100% stability as this is an audio workstation in my studio.
i realize that some consider to OC goes against 100% stability, but this combo does offer the stability I need. Some are riskier, but so far this has been wroking great.

OC info:
- bus set to 150
- pci locked to 66/33
- ram set to (auto) 300mhz
- cpu voltage increased to 1.65v (100% stable)

It still holds up as for my power needs surprisingly, but I was wondering ...

I'm waiting a bit longer before I move to the next newest tech so I'd like to stay with this for a little longer but upgrade to the fastest Intel P4 CPU for this motherboard.
What would be the fastest P4 CPU for my current mobo and ram - or smartest CPU for OCing for more power?
Maybe it won't require OCing, and moving to the fastest cpu will end up offering better perf.

* considering just a cpu upgrade for the moment taking into account my current ram/mobo, until I update the whole system later.

Can you guys guide me here? Point me to links to suggested proc with the best price?

That's the best I saw just browsing newegg. 2.2Ghz 400FSB. They might make a 2.4Ghz or 2.6Ghz 400FSB (don't remember off the top of my head), but since you're running that chip at 2.4Ghz, I'm not sure you'd see as big a difference as you're looking for . Plus that's a pretty good OC on that chip. No guarantee you could pull something off like that on a new chip already running pretty fast.

Wondering why you chose the 2.2? OC-able? If so, stable up to ? on air...

You wouldn't choose the Northwood Intel Pentium 4/ 3.06 GHz 533MHz FSB, 512K Cache, Hyper Threading Technology - OEM?
*probably a reason...but I'm just wondering why.
I might be able to find one for a decent price.

thanks for the reply. Seems as though you're saying I've reached near the top as for proc speed with this 1.6a oc (2.4). Hmmm...just wondering if i can boost it until i build a new system later.
