Okay i have an basic understanding of speakers with that said... i have pretty bad speakers and the wires that connects them are strained copper which are really bad... i was wondering if i replace them with a better copper wire would the sound be improved or is it not worth doing i have the material and could do it pretty cheaply so would it be worth it to do or would there be no improvement?

With bad speakers I doubt you would hear any improvement. Save the money, however little it is.

If your talking about the wires from the amplifier to the speakers are cheap then replacing them can make a difference.

If you are talking about the braided wire connecting the speaker cone/voice coil to the speakers terminals...don't even try to change them.

If you can do it cheaply, and feel up to it, go for it. If you ever replace your speakers, you'll still have the custom speaker cable. Although, don't expect to hear much diffrence if the old cables are 18 gauge or thicker. (When I say cheap, I mean 20$ or less for two speakers).

If you want better sound, best just to save up and get better sounding speakers. That's my view.

Okay so i guess i should probably just get new speakers lucky for me i have $100 gift card to best buy now the big question... should i get the x-530 for $86 which at 5.1 speaker system or a 2.1 speaker system for an similar price... how do i know which will be better...what should i look for.

Go to your local best buy and see if they have the speakers on demonstration where you can listen to them. That would be the best thing to do I think.

If best buy does not make it easy for the customer to listen to speakers, then you are pretty much going to just have to base a decision on reviews and what ever fits your application best (do you have space for 5.1, or would 2.1 be eaiser).

Personally, I like headphones a lot better then speakers, especially because of the value you get with them. Are you open to headphones? Some decent ones can be had for less then 120$us.

~Hope this helps
