I just received my SB65G2 today. I'll probably start putting everything together next week. Specs:

P4 2.8C
2*512 Corsair XMS
Lite On Combo DVD-ROM/CD-RW
WD Raptor 36gig

Recycled from old comp:
WD 100gig SE
ATI AIW 8500
SB Audigy 2

I popped the case open today, and it looks a lot tighter than I expected in there. Suggestions on putting this thing together? I especially noticed the 2 3.5" bays - it looks really tight. Are 2 hd's going to fit? Its also going to have both PCI and AGP slots filled - that looks really tight.

Secondly, it looks like this rear fan grill has to go asap, its the most restrictive thing i have ever seen.

Suggestions or links on building this thing and the easiest way to take off that fan grill before i start?

I don't know about anybody else, but I have the SN41G2 and I added an Audigy 2 ZS recently and it is very tight. I mean, tight enough that the rubber standoff on the hdd cage pushes right against the sound card. I'll probably take the whole thing apart next week and see if I can get a better fit. I have 2 hdds in mine. I just don't have a floppy drive.

Well, shuttles *ARE* compact! :D Getting ready to add the finishing touches to my second shuttle box. One thing to watch out for, is heat from the video card cooking stuff. Lost 2 HDD in my first one (SB51G) from a radeon 9700pro. Just something to watch out for.

My advice is to TAKE YOUR TIME! It's an aluminum case, and fairly easy to becn stuff when it's apart. A large portion of the cases integrity comes from being bolted together. You should not have to force ANYTHING to get it to come out or go in. Be gentle, take your time, and enjoy. :)

This is one system where following the order of assembly in the manual is highly suggested until you learn how everything fits together.

Everything fits, just take your time and follow the directions.

I dremeled my fan grill out, dropped my temps by around ten degrees celsius. However, it kills the warranty. Dead. It's a little quieter too.

Oh and don't be suprised to see idle temps in the mid thirties and loaded temps into the fifties... maybe even the low sixties. It will run warm.

I've a sb61g2 w/ p4 2.6 @ 3.2ghz, 1gig XMS4000, 74 gig Raptor and a 9800 pro. It's fast, its stable, it's quiet, it's ultra portable. I dig it.
