Quick Rivatuner OC question.

Hey everyone,

I'm testing out a HD4890 card my brother picked up. We're using Rivatuner to OC the card and it's pretty damn good. Only problem is that the clock speeds stay the same while idling / on the desktop. Is there a way to get it to auto down clock when not gaming like CCC does?

its been a while since i overclocked an ATI card.. but i believe there should be a drop down menu at the top in the overclocking section of rivatuner.. that says standard 2D, performance 2D and performance 3D.. i believe you have to set the clocks for the standard 2D and then set the overclock for the performance 3D.. since im only using an 8800GT which doesnt have any power saving feature on it i cant check to see if this works.. otherwise your best bet is to find the most stable overclock with rivatuner.. then going into the CCC and manually setting the overclock in there once you know its stable..


btw when checking your clock speeds.. use the hardware monitor in rivatuner.. its more accurate then using CCC.. this also goes with nvidia cards as well..
