Has anybody ever done a quick release mod or something like that to the side panel of this case

Not sure what you mean by quick release! I know that alot of cases have latches that make them easy to remove, don't know why you would want anything quicker than that. could you elaberate a little more on what you mean, remember, the first rule of posting on a forum is you can never have to much information! I have never seen anyone get yelled at for providing to much info, but it sure causes problems when you dont have enough :)

[edit] That case looks just like the Chieftec cases, i know most of thos came with latches on the side window. I also know a few mod stores carry side panels for that case, problem is finding one in the color you need. I will look thru my links and post back if i can find a link for you!
http://www.directron.com/fullwindowsl.html is what you need I believe, here is a differant colored version that has a pic http://www.directron.com/midwindow3.html these side panels are for Chieftec cases with 6 drive bays, remember that chieftec made these cases but alot of other companies rebadged them as there own, such as Antec and Thermaltake, as well as alienware, the only time you will have a problem swapping parts between these brands is with the black cases, Antec had a differant color of black than the others, all the rest are the same.

Yeah i was thinking something like those quick release latches that is on the Cheiftec dragons but my case is the ultra aluminous full tower case. i was wondering if there is a way i could add quick release latches or maybe somebody has put hinges on it so it would justs swing open like a normal door. right now all that is has are those thumb screws i dont really consider that quick

Does your panel "Swing" open like a door after you remove the thumb screws? Or do you have to slide the panel towards the rear? If it does swing open you could get one of the panels I linked to, it should fit, and if it does not, you could remove the latch from the new panel, cut your panel to accept the latch useing the new panel as a template and it should work, it just latches to the lip of the rear of the case, theres nothing special about the rear of the case that accepts the latch.
Your case may say Ultra, but it sure looks like a Chieftec clone to me.

thanks. um i have to slide it back and then it comes off

I have a Chieftec Dragon with the quick release and the door has to slide back a bit to come off. Why not get a Dragon door and repaint it?

I guess I wasn't 100% clear with that part. my old dragon case when you released the latch you would have to swing the door out a little then slide it back to remove the panel, it isn't a true hinge on the front of the panels.
Also I was looking at the specs of the door I linked to aand found a review of the case you have and I am not sure if there the same size or not, the side panel says it is for the larger 6 bay case, but your case only has 5, either way if you get the panel I linked to not only will you have the hardware needed for the mod you can use the panel as a template of where and how to cut the panel to mount the handle. i dont know of any handles you can get seperatly that wwill do what you want.
