I thought I had figured out what I wanted, that being a SLI mobo with a 7900 GTX and maybe another one some time down the road. Now I am getting cold feet after reading threads on this forum.

Right now I'm confused about one thing. Is it possible to run an ATi X1900XTX on an Asus A8N-Sli Deluxe board? If that's not possible, what is the most recommended motherboard for an ATi X1900XTX?

It is definitely possible to run that card on that motherboard. No question about it. You can't run two of them though, because an SLI board will only run two nVidia cards with the same GPU.

One other thing you might want to get or look into is the PSU. Make sure you have a good PSU a good 12v dual rail PSU. Because sli video cards the one's you have to plug power into need alot amps. So check out this site it is part of this site your on.

Thought that you could run 2 ATis for multi-monitor use just that you can't run Crossfire?
