I want to switch one 6950 to the other slot to see if my temps go down in crossfire. Will i need to reinstall my catalyst drivers? Thanks!
 
I did this before, not to check temps but to troubleshoot a display issue. I can't remember 100% but I believe it rebooted and after booting up it sorted itself out after a few seconds. I think it will automatically detect the cards and install the driver itself. Give it a try, it went fine for me and nothing went wrong. Hopefully it is the same for you, but YMMV.
 
I swapped slots with my 5870's multiple times, and have never had to reinstall drivers, and there from diffrent vendors. Hope this is helpful.
 
When i dropped my second 580 to the bottom spot due to temps i did have to re-install, however i am running surround. Worst thing that happens is you re-install takes 5 minutes, give it a try.
