Ok so I put up a rig not too long ago. Bought one 8800gts 512mb pci-e x16 I was planning to buy another later on to go sli. Now I go to newegg and evga that vid card has been discontinued already... so I see this new 8800 cards but they're pci-e 2.0 x16, would they work on a regular pci-e slot? or not?

All 256/512MB 8800 cards are PCIe 2.0, G92 core got updated with that feature. Get any of those new ones, SLI isn't brand dependent.

Yup, PCIe, 1.0 and 2.0. Forward and backwards compatible.ok so they will work on a regular pci-e 16x slot? that's all I want to know ;o
