I'm visiting NYC in a few days (from Europe) and plan to buy the 6800GT while I am there.
Seems that the GT model is reasonably well available so I might buy one from CompUSA for 399$. Is that the final final final price? Or do they add all sorts of taxes and charges on at the checkout?

Cheers!

Oh any other lesser know stores in Manhattan area that I could check out?

Well there will be sales tax and sorry to say that Manhattan is going to be one of the more expensive places in the country (tax wise) but if it comes out to less than you would pay in Finland then go for it. If you have friends or relatives in New York that could order one from an online vendor you could save some money that way.

edit- I'm in Texas so I have no idea about stores in manhattan but the major nationwide chains are CompUSA, BestBuy, Circuit City, Fry's Electronics and even some stores like Officemax, Staples and Office Depot will carry those cards eventually.

I do believe that $400 is MSRP for a GT and what it will cost in retail chains like CompUSA.
