My friend is upgrading a 2600xt 512 card on his dual core setup rig...he was looking to spend right around 100$...we've been looking at the saphire ddr 5 4850(512)...and it looks like an amazing deal @ 100$....but I also see posted in hot deals is a GTS 450(1gb)...@ about 100$. ive been googling a lot but cant find any direct comparisons..both look to be around gtx260 performance range...but i'm having trouble deciphering which one has the edge, also if there are any suggestions as to any other cards we should take a peek at.. lmk! ty in advanced.

what are the exact specs of his pc and what res does he play at?

a gts450 should be slightly faster than a regular 4850. I have never seen a 4850 with gddr5 though so that could make things closer. I would get the gts450 since its the same price, will use less power and run cooler. also 512mb is not enough for many modern games so the gts450 with 1gb will help there. both cards are certainly slower than a gtx260 though.
