I have a ASUS P4S800D-X Socket 478 SiS 655FX ATX Intel Motherboard an OLD prescott 3.0E 3ghz processor. This processor heats up my entire room, it is soooo hot, so I am going to buy another one in the 2-3 range, something that can still easily run counter strike source etc. Any suggestions?

mine idles around 48C and under load it heats up 52*C immediately and continues to rise to 58*C. This thing just cranks out heat, especially down here in texas. Would the 12 or so degree drop make a significant difference in the heat of my room? I have proper ventilation in here, and a Copper Zalman on it. I never have problems with it, the computer runs great, just too hot.

58 degrees isnt that hot. tbh, if you're going to upgrade get a low end C2D

Just upgrade everything eventually when the next set of intel procs comeo out? I need a new g-card eventually and this one only has AGP so I imagine it's for the best.

82$ for 12 degrees does seem a little pointless...
