Thanks in advance for any replies. I have been running tests on a few oc's on my system and have come up with a few questions:
My system is:
Q6600 GO
EVGA 750i
Mushkin Redline DDR2-1000
EVGA GTX 280
A) Should I stay 1:1, at 3.0ghz (for example) with 9x333 and my DDR2-1000 memory @ 667mhz
or
B) 5:4 ratio, 3.0ghz 9x333 and memory at 1066mhz
or
C) 1:1 3.0ghz with an 8 multiplier and a higher FSB to bring my memory up in speed while still maintaining 1:1.
I know everyone says 1:1 is better; why - is it just because of temp? Is it performance (real world vs benchies)?
As far as I can tell; option B seems A LOT snappier in Vista and higher FPS in games than option 1) I have not full worked out option C) yet as far as my exact specs.
Explanations on the whole reason to be 1:1 would help!
EDIT: Option D) 1:1 with 667 Memory and maybe lower my timings?
