Quick newb question.

I have three Parallel ATA HDDs, and one Optical drive. On the IDE with a hardrive and an optical drive, which should be the master? Thanks.

Oh and would burning a CD from songs on the drive that's on the same cable as the burner be a good idea? i mean since the motherboard can only access one drive at a time? Thanks again.

The hard drive should be the master, however it really doesnt matter.

You can burn a disc from a hd on the same IDE channel, there should be a small performance hit, but nothing Id worry about. Once again it doesnt matter...

Thanks so much man, and I guess even though it's a small performance difference the OS should be installed on one of the drives where there is no optical drive on the circuit.

Ok, I just installed it. The BIOS sees it, devices in windows sees it, but it's not listed a Drive letter. What do i do?

Oh and i have the cdrom set to slave but i could only get the end of the cables connector in there and the short one in the master HDD, is that ok?

Ok I downloaded partition magic and it lets me create a partition with the drive, so all is good, although it won't let me change anything until i purchase the full version

Just so you know you can partition drives with windows disk management, easily. Just right mouse click on My Computer----> Manage----> then there is disk management on the list on the left column.
