im finally ready to buy a LCD, ready to pull the trigger.

for now i want a 19" widescreen or regular, but at the moment will my x850pro push either 1440x900 or 1280x1024 resolution without a prob?(i know refresh rate is important im aiming for less than 8ms)

im pretty much sold on samsung model's, also would it be worth it to go for 20"?would my card push the resolution without a prob?

im looking to spend $250 max(i think im stuck with 19"models for my budget)

For $250 a 19" or smaller is the only type of LCD monitor you can get at that price unless there is a 20" monitor that is selling at that price somewhere. My brother has an ATI X850 Pro vid card conncted to a 19" Sony monitor and its good. The X850 Pro can easily drive a 19" monitor whether it be WS or not. It all depends on the game and how much detail settings you turn on in the game. If you turn up Antialiasing, Anisotrpic Filtering etc on the game itself for better image it will definitely slow down any card. Most common resolution people are gaming at now is 1280 x 1024 with Anti Aliasing, Filtering etc turned on and they balance the framerate/image quality of the games they play. It is uncommon though seeing 1440 x 900 resolutions for gaming. Though not saying it can't be played on a 19" WS at 1440 x 900. With the high end cards nowdays, resolutions like 1600 x 1200 are now playable at smooth framerates.
