I have a standard client just dowloaded and started, but was trying to get a smp client. how do i change it? Linux 6.06 - 64bit

Can you run Xp inside vista thru vmware? Will it use the mpie for vista?
 
as long as you use the -smp switch in the terminal launch it should go. delete the WU data going now and restart with the -smp switch

 
You will probably need to reconfig it.
After deleating the old data start will both the -smp & -config switches.
./fah6 -smp -config

I'm in the process to switching some of my boxen over to Linux so I've learning to run it.

I have not tried VMware on Vista yet but I know that VMware wants IIS (Internet Information Service)on the host O/S to run and you cannot get IIS for Vista unless you have a server version ov Vista. I think VMware will still work without IIS but only in Local mode (which is what you will be using). If you use VMware (it will not hurt to try ) why not just load Linux which is free?
