Quick Help - Vista X-fi Platinum Optical In

I just ordered the X-fi Platinum to hook up my ps3 via optical to my klipsch promedia 5.1 speakers. I have been assured that it will output in 5.1 in both XP and Vista, but for now I can only test XP. I just wondered if anyone could verify that they can decode dolby digital or DTS through a X-fi Platinum optical jack in Vista and have it output 5.1 surround. I've heard conflicting reports so I just wanted verification. Thanks in advance.
