I don't have any alcohol to clean off the bottom of my HSF, can I use hydrogen preoxide in the brown bottle?

NO, hydrogen peroxide would induce/encourage corrosion/oxidation to any parts that can be corroded.

ABSOLUTELY NOT.

H2O2 is good at OXIDIZING. It's not a good solvent.

damn i never realized, but you are right.

use some sort of organic solvent...that shit should do the trick. Alcohols seem to work best.

pooh, oh well. i'll just leave a litle bit of residue the HSF i guess. damn them thermal pads...very sticky.

You cant make it to safeway or into your moms drug cabinet to get some isopropanol or some nail polish remover (acetone is good for everything)?

Scented nail polish remover may leave a residue that would need to be cleaned off.

Just go to the store and don't settle with having a little bit of thermal pad left. CPU's are expensive.
