Hey guys,

Okay i have 2 160gigs in raid 0. Now i mite be selling this computer but i dont want to sell it with teh 2 160s.

1 - Is their anyway i can unbuild the raid array so that i can just have 2 160s again and not one raided drive, without loosing data?

2- Or if i sell the computer, and when i buy my new puter can i just hook them up to any raid card and the raid array will still be intact?

Can someone plz help me get the answer for these 2 guestions.

Thanks,
Dan

I know of no way to "un-raid" drives and retain the data. And the specifics of how the information is stored on the drives is dependant on the raid controller. So just taking the drives out and putting them on a raid controller card will most likely not work.

You're pretty much stuck backing the data up, and then re-formatting.
