Two question:

1. When I open a new tab, it displays a blindingly bright (when the lights are off). How can I have this open a black page instead of a white one.

- I have greasemonkey and darken installed already, but this doesn't cut the mustard. This isn't a huge issue, just figured I would ask.

2. Is it possible to do something in the about:config to disable the vertical scroll bars? Seems a bit redundant when I just use the trackpad to scroll.

In case you were wondering, this is my netbook which I am trying to maximize screen real estate for.

Thanks!

1. about:config, browser.display.background_color, set to any hex triplet HTML style, #000000 would be black. CSS specifiers won't work (ie. 'shorthand' hex, rgb(n,n,n), names)

2. This should be doable with userChrome.css I'm going to test out a hack now, but that means restarting the browser so I'll return and edit with my findings :p

Wow, I didn't even think to do that before, but having the new tab open up black instead of white is awesome. Thanks a lot.
