quick! diamond or HIS 5970?

I snabbed a 5970 on newegg for $715 but a local store just had a shipment of diamond 5970 arrive for $599 :eek: (after tax = $551). Now I've heard crappy things about Diamonds customer service but is HIS that much better of a brand to be worth the extra $130 bucks??
 
it really doesn't matter what you pick up since all the ATi cards are reference design. I would rather take the 599 diamond card after all it's pretty significantly cheaper than newegg
 
actually wow math fail. im going to keep the HIS order since its only $30 bucks more after rebate and HIS seems to be more reputable than diamond these days.:cool:
 
Well my hd4870x2 from diamond is still going. Last I heard you have to brute force call to get RMA and such because using website doesnt work.
 
They are both good brands, but if theres to much of a price difference between the 2. I'd stayed with the lower priced one.
 
yeah i miscalculated. it comes out to $30 extra for the HIS. i think the HIS is packaged nicer :)D) and i guess ill have the peace of mind from all of diamond's horror stories. fingers crossed for a non-rattling fan!
