OK after changing my mind 800000 times trying to figure what kind of motherboard i want, ive got it down to two models.

MSI K8N Diamond Plus
DFI LP UT-DR Expert

Yes I know the Expert would be better for OC'ing, and the Diamond has 2x16 PCI-E, i want to hear any arguements why I should NOT get either motherboard. I don't need extreme HTT OC'ing, but want the ability to do 300 if my cpu will take it. I like the features a little better on the Diamond, but the expert is obviously the expert and all that goes along with DFI.

Purchase happening tonight. Ahhh! dont know what to do!
 
i like the dfi boards also but the expert has problems as of now.i lost a 3200 venice to the expert with everything on auto.just hit the on button and poof its history.lots of reports on this at extremeforums.com.i loved the layout of the expert and it took me 2 months to decide to order it.i only had the board stable for 3 weeks all settings were default and auto for others.i was reading before i was gonna try anything at all in the way of o/clocking.it was my first dfi board too.i build computers for a living and this expert was by far the hardest board ive ever has to get to boot.i knew the issues with the board before i bought it as ive read extensivley on dfi street and extremesystemsforums.com and these boards do kill cpu's on a start up.its a shame but its still happening.mine was the latest revision too.i should have gone with the ultra d and i almost did,but thought it would have all the fixes being a later model and all.the msi is a fine board from what ive read.300 htt should be easy to achieve ,over that mite take some patience.the abit looks good to the an8 32x.clocks as high as the expert from what ive read.and also the asus a8n 32sli is a fine board,all the 32 sli boards are very forgiving and all seem to run excellent.the dfi board tho not 32 sli was expected to be a winner but its plagued with problems.dfi basically told me too bad on your cpu but we will replace the board,they did and i sold it and bought another 3200 venice and put it back in my asus a8n-e and im back to where i started,plus i have some more ram i had to buy to get the expert to boot.basically a nightmare of a time with the dfi.i still may try the ultra d one of these days,im a glutton for punishment i think.as sick as this sounds if they fixed the expert i mite consider it again as i like the layout and all the clocking options.but id have to be sure they fixed the board.maybe in a few months ill check it out again.dfi's attitude sucks when you tell them you want your processor replaced due to a faulty board.no way ,no how,not gonna happen.....but we will replace our defective board.has to be user error or something besides us.i told them to check bios and see what my settings are and were.cant change em,cant boot so whats the problem...so guy think about your choise carefully and if you decide on the expert i can understand as i had the fever too for that board,but my fever is gone now.
