As you can see from my sig, I'm running a CM Stacker, and I just recently upgraded my old trusty Fortron 530W to a fancy new Corsair HX620W psu. The Corsair has a large 120mm on its bottom, and I'm curious how to install it in the Stacker.

I have it mounted on the bottom, but I'm wondering which direction the fan should be pointing. Should the fan be sucking in air from the case, or should I install the psu so that the fan is drawing in air from the bottom of the case grill?

I imagine I should do the latter since it should be drawing in cooler air, but I just thought I'd ask you guys. Thanks!

If it has an open below the PSU to draw air in, I'd face the fan downwards. That will keep the PSU cooler and will look cleaner. My Silverstone TJ-09 was that way - but I just switched to a Stacker 832 and now the PSU is mounted on the top drawing air out.

Cooler air makes more sense.. except pointing down it will suck dust off your floor up through the case into the psu.

Add a filter to the PSU intake to keep dust out.

If your old PSU sucked air out of the case, then you should make sure you have a fan to draw air out to replace the one from the old PSU. If your existing case fans have enough reserve capacity, you can skip this, but the other fans will likely have to run higher as a result. Your choice - a bit more noise or another fan as required.

Awesome. Thanks for the replies. I wound up flipping it so that the fan is facing downward. My case actually sits on top of my computer desk, so dust from a rug/lack of ventilation won't be a problem for me. I love this psu. :)
