Doing a new build, and all that I want to know is this:

What mobo, which is available TODAY, regardless of cost, will for sure be compatible with Conroe when it comes out?

My plan is, put a temp processor in now, and then just order Conroe when it's available.

Don't have the choice to wait, circumstances demand that I have to buy now, but I do want to be able to upgrade to a Conroe.

(Yes, I did read the FAQ, and the cost is not an issue)

TIA!!!!!!!

Compatible motherboards
---------------------------------------
Core 2
Intel "Bad Axe" 975XBX Rev 304
Intel 965/963/946 chipset series motherboards
ASRock 775i65G v2.0 i865G chipset (not available yet)
ASRock 775Twins-HDTV v2.0 Xpress200 chipset (not available yet)
MSI 975X Platinum v2.0 (not available yet)

2nd question would be:

I plan on oc'ing, and of these boards, specifically w/ Conroe, would be best?

TIA!!!!!!!

Asus has posted a couple of new boards with support for Conroe.

P5W DH Deluxe (i975X)
P5B Deluxe (P965)
P5B (P965)

There are other few but rather "mid range" which is not what you are looking for i guess.

I'd stick out for a 965P board, since they will actually be faster than 975X boards (faster and more flexible memory controller).
