So im trying to figure out my architecture. I have a P4 3G , after searching google and a very cryptic intel site i think its a x86.

I'm trying to compile a kernal so I kinda need to know. So before I go and fuck something up I figure I will ask you guys first. Is it a x86? and whats an alpha?
 
yes. it's x86. with sse and sse2 support.

alpha.. depends on what you're talking about, so i can't say
