A system with the following...

(1)18GB 15000RPM USCSI320 Hard Drive ( Windows XP )

(2) 74GB Raptors in Raid 0 (16k Stripe) SATA



Should I put the Page File on Hard Drive 1 with the OS or on the Raid array with all the rest of my stuff

I've god damn near the same setup going on. Use a 18 gig atlas 15k and a SINGLE 10k.6 73 gig seagate (same platter size so esentially scsi version of raptor)

My OS and my page file are on the 18 gig. Every installed program and game goes on the 10k drive. The swap files is basically used when you load alot of stuff into memory and yu need to make room, so everything big that gets loaded into memory gets loaded from the 10k drive. Always put your swap file on the fastest drive you have, and once windows in loaded already, it doesnt load any large files, jsut little small ones hence having it on the 15k drive makes sence as well since that drive has the best access times.

SInce your setup is slightly different, I would suggest the same assuming you use a single platter 18gig drive. If you use a seagate 2nd, or god forbid a 1st generation 15k drive then its a little long in the tooth and cant even compete with 1 raptor for transfer rate and i might change my opinion. If it is a single platter drive though its god better throughput than a single raptor and page file transfers are rarely very huge so raid 0 prolly hurts as much as it helps since it increases access times. lastly your likely to have the big programs on games on the raptors and it makes little sence to load data off a drive and ave to put it back into a swap file on that same drive, since that causes alot of unnecessary seeking.
