Quick ? 9800se 256bit or 9800pro 128bit

As the title asks, which is better?

9800se with 256bit or
9800pro with 128 bit for the same money?

I can't confirm that either one is 256-bit, but to me it would be smarter to get whichever one is 256-bit and OC the shite out of it. Even if the 128-bit card has a higher core clock, it's pretty much guaranteed you'll see worse performance than a card w/256-bit connection to the RAM.
 
There are 9800se's with 256bit ram (see my sig)

Make sure it's 256 bit (type 2) and buy it. I wouldn't buy it unelss it has with 3ns or 2.6ns ram modules. I bought mine and it had 3.3ns ram and it stopped me from hitting 9800 pro speeds fully by about 15 mhz =/

Ok, but what if I were not planning on overclocking. Would the 256 bit still be a deciding factor? Or would the 128bit PRO be better at stock speeds? I guess that was my real question.
 
erm.. I'm not sure

I know the 9800se type 2 is 9600xt equivocal but I have no idea about the 9800 pro 128bit... I doubt it is though.

And if you get a 9800se you SHOULD OC because you KNOW that gpu core can do at LEAST r350 speeds (~350-380, and while using 4 pipes you should be able to hit 380 easilly at stock cooling) and by looking at the ram on the card u can get the ram # and find out what NS that ram is and put it to stock speed for that ram :).

Hmm. Yea maybe I should go with the SE and I can always OC if I want to.
Thanx for the help ;) Either one should be a big jump from my old 8500
