questions on core 2 duo overclocking

Im so confused over how to overclock a core 2 duo. my only experience i have ever had with overclocking has been with AMD 64s which have the mem controller on die. I have never had a intel processor b4, and im confused over the ram freqency realtive to the FSB. some questions that i have are:

-how does the FSB affect the ram?

-what freqency ram does the core 2 duo default to?

-once change the FSB how do you change the ram frequency?


any examples are welcome.

1. memory runs at a ratio from the fsb. increasing fsb will increase memory speed linearly, just as it did with K8

2. depends on your board and ram. highest it'll default to, is ddr2-800

3. you are changing the ram frequency.
