Questions on adding a main drive.

Hey guys,

I built a system about 6 months ago with one 250gb caviar as the main drive and now I want to swap that drive to a storage drive and get another drive for my main drive. When I do this will I just install the new drive and then boot from the window's cd and it will give me the option to format and install on the new drive? And once that is done since I will have two OSs i can then delete window's from my old drive?

And when I am installing I will need to put the new drive in the old drive's sata plug and move the old one to the 2nd sata plug?

Once I am done and the OS is loaded I will then be able to move the programs I want on the main drive by simply copying and pasting from the original drive right?

my system specs are-
asus p5b dlx
250 gb WD Caviar (old drive that will be used for storage)
74gb raptor 16mb cache sata (new drive for OS and programs)

Just use the software disk tools of whatever hard drive manufacturer you buy and use the "disk copy" feature from the old to new drive. You'll have an exact bootable hard drive like the old. Then set your boot order in the BIOS to boot from the new drive as it doesn't matter what port the boot drive is on with SATA. Then when you boot up on the new drive OK, go into Disk Management and reformat the old drive to use as storage or whatever.

Where is disk managment? I need to erase a disk that has Windows XP on it.

Well I found Disk Managment but it wont let me format the drive because windows is installed on it...sorry for jacking your thread.
