Questions from a n00b

Is there a program out there that allows you to view CPU temps and the stats of your CPU? Do they allow you to change things up?
I've built PC's before, but I'm new at the whole overclocking thing.
Any friendly advice would be appreciated.

multiple programs out there to monitor temps and cpu statistics.

Speedfan, motherboard monitor, are my favorites. As far as changing cpu settings, you gotta do that in the bios.
unless you use clockgen, but I dont think that's what you are looking for.
