Questions concerning a future purchase

So... I'm in classes right now, have plenty of time on my hands, currently sporting a Thermaltake Armor with 2x6800 GT's, and an AMD 3500+ Clawhammer. What I want is to upgrade, however, I am looking towards the future when I do this upgrade, because a year from now I will be out of the house, in a 4 Year college, possibly moving my computer around often, and the fact that the Thermaltake Armor, is simply huge. What I plan to upgrade to is:
The new Shuttle XPC SN27P2 that will be released later this month
7800GTX
AMD AM2 4400+ 64 X2 or 4600+, one of the two.

Questions being,

1) What, if anything will I lose or gain from going to 1x 7800GTx, from 2x6800GTs? Would it be a wise decision to buy an SLi SFF ?

2) In similarity from Question 1, is there any worthwhile SFF that is SLi Capable? There is one AMD 939 Shuttle, however, there are many bad reviews from newegg, and Im looking for something with the new AM2 Socket. I have looked all over the SFF's on Newegg, ZipZoomFly, etc... However I did notice ones like Frag Box.... can anyone recommend anything else that is professional as a shuttle?

3) Would it be wise to wait?

Wait for conroe... it's coming out soon, and that'll guarantee price drops too

So is that saying Conroe will rock the AMD I want... or it will make competition and make the prices fall? Damn your discouragment! ;) Guess ill research conroe a little.

You don't need it until next summer if I read correctly. By then AMD will probably have a product that rocks the pants off of Intel.

Steve I sure as hell hope so from the conroe benchmarks, but I have a feeling that it will be a little while before AMD gets on the upswing against conroe. Their engineers have been lazy, or else no one has been leaking information about their next super CPU. As for you cyraxx, if you were to do it now I would get a Micro Fly or the Lian Li SFF case and look for a micro ATX board with SLI. There is one for Socket 939, however I don't think they exist for AM2 yet (I have the one for 939). I think for th emost part you 7800GTX that you are thinking about will be faster except maybe in some scenarios. I haven't researched it enough, but I do think that it won't be a big deal. If you put off buying the 7800GTX, you could keep you 6800 SLI config for now and just wait until G80 or ATI XXX100000 XT PE edition.
