Questions about upcoming Intel CPUs

I was looking for rumored release dates for Intel's upcoming CPUs because I wanted to know when their would be processors available capable of outperforming Intel's current top-tier desktop CPUs.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Broadwell_(microarchitecture)#Expected_variants

The above states that Broadwell-K series chips will probably be available in the second quarter of 2015 and will have better power efficiency (a 65W TDP), but does anyone know if these actually benchmark better than Intel's current best offerings?

The above is unclear about when Skylake-K series chips will come out. Does anyone know? Will these chips perform a lot better than Intel's current best offerings?

Did I miss any other Intel CPUs that will soon be released?

We have access to the same information you do. If you can't find it, then we can't tell you it either.

Does anyone know?

My guess is Q2 2016 (or about 1 year after Broadwell-K)

Will these chips perform a lot better than Intel's current best offerings?

My guess is no. I doubt that the 14nm process will bring 5GHz+ clocks or a large improvement in IPC.

some power/heat savings, modest clocks and instructions per

Broadwell will most likely give us the biggest leap in performance when compared to the last three releases. But this isn't going to be like the jump from a P4 to a C2D.

Haswell has been around for over 2 years now I am expecting to see BroadWell sooner than Q2 2015. I dont think it would be a big jump in performance but rather power usage and DDR4.

There was Haswell Refresh in Q2 of 2014 so its not like there will be an entire 2 years between releases.

Z97 is the broadwell chipset already (and does not support DDR4).

Z87/H87/H81 were intended for Haswell originally, and Z97/H97/etc for Broadwell, but Intel did not release a CPU update this year. So assuming they stick with Broadwell's chipset in the coming year, you will probably not see mainstream desktop DDR4 support until Skylake....which could be end of 2015 or 2016.
