Questions About Modding the 9800XT

Ok I've been thinking about how I can get some speed out of my XT i've thought of a few things maybe you guys can give me some suggestions
1. Replace all the stock thermal pads and grease with Arctic Silver Ceramique, will I get better temps?
2. Possibly get or mod a new heatsink for it, if so which ones and which ramsinks should I use??
 
1) Yes, it may not help THAT much, but thats the first thing I do to ALL my video cards. I take off all the pads with sandpaper, replace everything with Arctic Silver or whatever.

2) Hmm.. for a 9800XT....mabye a VGA Silencer and OCZ BGA Ramsinks?
 
Ill do that and until I can buy everything i'll lap the stock heatsink!
 
VGA silencer wont fit on an XT.
the vga silencer XT will come out soon.
currently you should take the plastic shroud off of the card, maybe put some AS5 or ceramaque on the core/ram, and put one of those blue vantec card coolers under it, that is supposed to work very well.
