Hi guys,

I'm in the process of testing a new setup (with maybe 3 more in the near future) and I just have some questions.

I plan to use the GPU2 client under Vista so does it matter if it 32 or 64 bit version?

Sometimes the "display" will slow down to a crawl but if i move my mouse and click on the display it will kick in at full speed again... with it running in the taskbar I'm hoping this will not happen?

What is the best video card combination to run thi? I have access to either HD 4870x2s, 4870s, 4850s, and 3870x2s. If I have 2 4870x2 will the client software be able to tap their potential or would i be better off running 2 4870s or 3 4850s?

Would I be able to configure the PCs with the same ID and monitor their performance from one central location ?

Is it possible to install the CPU client along with the GPU2 client or would that slow down the GPU2 client?

GPU2 runs fine on 32bit and 64bit Vista.
Check the guide for installation instructions.

GPU2 also runs well on Vista with an SMP client, (if you can get the SMP client to work without EUEing)

Best production is currently NVidia Cards, but the 4850s and 4870s do respectably.
I don't have any advise on the X2s but I know some folks are running them.
 
Running multi GPU clients at full speed depends on if you have enough CPU cores to power them.
With the nVidia client you can run upto 4 GPU clients on a single CPU core.
The ATI client is more CPU intensive, so its closer to 1 client per CPU core.
How much more so I don't know as I only have nVidia cards here.

The system i'm setting up is a 4-core Phenom (2.3). The case and motherboard will not hold 4 - 4870s so i was thinking it would be best with 2 - 4870x2, but reading some stuff suggest it doesn't even work properly with a single 3870x2. ?
