Ok.. right now i'm overclocking my 8500LE for kicks.. but i plan to get a 9800pro soon and overclock it... is it wise to just load up the overclock settings one when i play games.. then set it back to default for everything else.. or should i load the overclocked settings at start up?

THanks..

what do you guys think about the find Max core and max mem speed feature??? how lond would you test for artifacts aswell.. thanks a lot

I just leave mine at 430/400 all the time. I have noticed that some programs (i.e. 3DMark) don't kick the card up to the OC settings and I always accidentally close ATI Tool.

The artifacts tester is quite good, just give it a good five minutes at each tested speed to allow stuff to pop up.

is the max rated mem speed on all 9800pros 400 MHz?? is there someway to check if the one i get can handle that?

RADEON mem chips are 2.8ns = 360MHz I believe. I just have good RAM.

Make a new profile for your overclocked speeds in ATI Tool, and set it to load for both 2D and 3D. Then go into the setup and set ATI Tool to load at windows bootup.
