Alright. Right at this moment, I have an x1950 XTX and an x1600. Both full PCIe 16x. Can I, using the Xpress 3200 chipset on my motherboard, actually set up the x1600 to do physics, right now? And if I do, would there be any benifits to it?

Reading around I havn't seen clear answers to these questions yet, so I created a new thread. Sorry if this has been answered already.

Look for ATI to answer that question for you when drivers are available that enable physics calculations on the GPU. You will also see some front page news on the [H] when that happens. I wouldn't worry about it too much. It remains to be seen whether or not dedicated physics processing is all that they hype it up to be.
 
Ok, so basically it isn't happening yet, so I shouldn't buy this x1600. Thanks.
 
Well just wait till a HavokFX game comes out wich you like.
That could be mid 2007 or end 2007.
Then you got other option to buy a more powerfull G-card with the same budged.

A RV610 or RV630
