Its general hardware, and about the only place I could think of fitting this thread.

So I've had it years and now it started acting up, turning itself on and off, faking taking a picture (stuff goes but no flash and nothing saves to flash) so I decided to open it up.

It looks like the little metal cover that makes contact on the button to take a picture is bent completely inward and is always, or 90% of the time making contact. I'd replace it but I don't know what its called and they are extremely small solder points.
I can't see anything else that could be wrong with it and I'd show you a picture of the peice if it wasn't connected to the only camera I own :\

I was hoping maybe someone knew maybe another forum about camera repair or some sites with some people who do funny things to their old cameras. I was thinking if it really is gone maybe I can finally make that scope rail mounted camera for my Aug with its carcase.

Thanks for any help or info

Welcome to photography & video. Apparently your thread was trusted in our shutter/trigger-happy hands :D

Which camera is this?

If you could get ahold of a few hundred more of them you could do something like this... http://www.cameravan.com/
