Can you use rubber gloves to work on your pc to stop static shocks ?

or do I have to go out and get some latex gloves ?
 
It's not your bare skin that causes ESD, it's whether or not you are grounded. You can handle parts just fine with your bare hands if you just get a grounding wrist strap.

thanks for the info but my question was can I use rubber gloves ? if so please say yes or no
 
You can put on whatever type of gloves you want. The type of glove you wear has nothing to do with Electro Static Discharge. You asked if using rubber gloves would stop ESD, and I said that the gloves don't matter. So YES you can use rubber gloves to handle electronic equipment. NO it will not keep you from giving off ESD, because like I said in my first reply, it's whether or not you are grounded which controls your static electricity buildup.
 
Touch a doorknob before working on them, if you don't want to buy a ground cable.
 
dude think about what you are posting first. Rubber gloves are excellent at generating static charge and being an electrical insulator, discharging them is not exactly simple.

Rubber gloves are a bad idea. There are other gloves available that are conductive which are much better.
