Hey guys, I currently have an E207WFP LCD monitor for my computer. My parent's are getting DirecTV installed tomorrow. I was looking at the PDF manual online and I saw that the receiver comes with an HDMI port. I have a DVI cable with a male HDMI to female DVI adapter attached to it. Will I be able to view HD content on this monitor if it's connected to the receiver via HDMI. The DVI port on this monitor is HDCP compliant, but the native resolution is 1680 x 1050. Will it scale down on 1080i broadcasts?

yes it will scale it down. Your monitor cannot support 1920 x 1080p natively.
 
you may have to set it to 720p and either select 1:1 (if you have it) or fill mode. But yes, you can get a picture.
