I have a question. I have a Pentium II processor with MMX. What is the difference between a Pentium II and Pentium II MMX?
 
MMX is an instruction set geared towards multimedia efficiency. If an application is designed with MMX in mind it could offer better performance.
 
Answer. The MMX will be faster for general multimedia processes...

Better to have it than not!
 
I think all Pentium II's had MMX. Just the older's ones (the 350MHz for example) had the MMX logo because Intel was pushing it pretty hard back then. By the time the 450 was released MMX was adopted by AMD, so Intel didn't have to push it anymore.

Bingo. All the P2s had MMX, it's the P1s you have to be careful with (some had it, some didn't).
