I currently have a ATi brand 9800 Pro AIW, from 2004.4 year.

no problems thus far. however, it seems a bit dated.

what would be the impact diff in performace vs. an ATi X1300 Pro 256 MB?
 
the 9800 pro would probably outperform it. the 9800 is similar in performance to a 6600gt and the 6600gt's main competitor is the x1600 now. The x1300 would have newer technologies for newer eye candy but not as much performance
