So, right now I have my Fileserver on a 485VA UPS. But, when I pull the wall plug the UPS will trip. The fileserver has an idle load of 132W; 0.99PF; 1.12A; 119.0V AC(Fluctuates between 118.8 and 119.5); 134VA

Startup wattage goes as high as 240W. Under maximum file transfer load it never exceeds 150VA. Is my Kill-A-Watt screwed up, or should this UPS handle this fileserver with ease(see sig for specs)?

UPS works with a 120W load with the input cord pulled. (Basically everything except the computer)

Does a GFCI kill the ground also? If not, I'll use that to test the UPS.

A GFCI measures the current flowing from hot ot neutral.......if it breaks a certain point it throws the circuit. The ground to the house should remain good.

Should that UPS work.....normally yes for a short time...what is the model?

CyberPower BE485 485VA

I'm not too worried. It only cost me $20 and works as an AVR. Besides, my Belkin 1100VA UPS arrived today and handles my entire setup (490W average idle draw).

And I did test it with the GFCI, the 485VA unit still trips.
