I was thinking of buying a Sharp or Samsung 32inch TV to use as a monitor for my pc and xbox. Does the 120 hz mean I can plug in my PC and run games at 120fps with vsync on? TIA:confused:

120Hz tech for PC monitors and HDTVs is different.

120Hz (applies to 240Hz as well) HDTVs takes two frames from the source (BR / DVD player, video card, etc) compares the two frames, then creates an in-between frame and sticks it in the middle. This basically improves overall quality and smoothness.

Gaming wise, this increases input lag because it analyzes every two frames and inserts an interpolated frame in between them.

If you want a larger 1080p 120 Hz monitor LG, Asus, and Acer are all supposed to be coming out with 23-24" monitors in the next couple months.
