well here's what happened, i was playing bf2 and the fan on my accelero x2 stopped working. i played for about 1H30 and i think my fan stopped working for 1h. the core temperature went up to 117 degree celcius (243 fahrenheit). i just put the stock fan back on. what should i do to test if i messed it up or not?
 
ouch, that is terrible. With the fan being so quiet as is how did you determine the fan was even dead? I have an X2 installed and now am worried my fan will die lol. You sure it was dead, just not clogged with dust? Perhaps the header was blown powering the fan?

What made you think the card was running that hot, did games lockup, artifact etc?

I would like to know as well how you got the X2 off your card once installed. The ram pads are like horse glue making it near impossible to pry off your card once installed. I have heard of IC's being ripped off the card while trying to remove this cooler.

well, when i stopped playing i saw the temperature was still at 95 degrees celcius so i looked and the fan wasn't turning at all. the fan was clean and working couple hours earlier (my temp idle was 36 degrees celcius) while in game it would usually go up to 61 degrees so when i saw 95, i was like: "what the hell". i checked ATI tools and the highest temp it went was 117 degrees celcius....i'm getting one of those thermalright HR-03
