Did a search for this case here, didn't really see much for it, hoping someone has one (or has worked on one) and can answer my questions.

The case in question is the Shuttle SS21T SFF case.

Two questions I have:
1. Shuttle says that the power supply is replaceable, but I've also seen where standard ATX power supplies don't fit in this case. Since the barebones only comes with a 250w power supply (ridiculous in this day & age, imho), I would definitely want to change it out for something a bit larger, especially since any higher end video card is going to need some pretty healthy power just by itself. So the question I have is, will this case truly fit a standard ATX power supply, or is it like the mini sff Shuttles, and will pretty much only take their special power supplies??
2. I've also seen here where you're pretty limited by the size of the HSF you use on the AM2 cpu that goes in this barebones. Is this due to the hdd cage getting in the way, or for some other reason? I'd love to put something the size of a Zalman 9500 AM2 HSF in there, but it allegedly won't fit. If that's due to something that's barely in the way, that could easily be modded to let a larger HSF fit in there, then I'm willing and capable to do that.

I don't believe you can put an ATX power supply in there so you are fairly limited to shuttle PSUs.

As for the CNPS 9500...the only case I know this fits in is the Qmicra and those are sold out for now.

Are you set on a shuttle? You could go with the SN27P2 or you could go with a mATX cube case like the MicroFly MX6 which comes with a PSU and you can replace the motherboard as needed.
 
No, not set on anything. Just saw the great price on that particular Shuttle model, and getting it for $110 after rebates would be great for a small case like that. :)

But if I'm stuck with (overpriced, imho) Shuttle power supplies, and don't have the room for any good cooling options, then I'll likely just go mid-tower. I've already built a system in an X-Qpack, and another in a Shuttle SN45 (socket A) itty-bitty barebones. Just thought a neat in-between size case would be a nice change, ya know?? And since my daily system is still an XP-2800+, I thought an upgrade to an AM2-5200+ would be nice too! :D

CNPS9500 will fit in the X-Qpack, if you cut half of the bracket. It's a pain to install though and you lose the ability to slide out your mobo tray. It would be pointless on that SiS chipset anyway.

Cases could be a bit smaller if they designed them right, but the mATX standard sort of limits them to a certain size.
